Education
Brooke Marlin believes that we are all our best selves when we are sufficiently supported. As a dedicated psychotherapist for children and parents, she strives to be a part of that transformative support system for families. Brooke practices from the assumption that all parents love their children and are doing their best, and that all children are good. Instead of telling families what the problem is, she instead asks, “how can we help?” Through parent work, Brooke and families find the answers and work towards healing together. She sees and appreciates children as a mosaic of different parts - their strengths, challenges, interests - and works with each of these parts to help them flourish. Brooke uses a gentle and relational approach with children, and employs psychodynamic play therapy to help children communicate complex emotions through play. Brooke believes in the beauty of difference. She enjoys, and is more than comfortable, working with neurodiverse children and believes that all children can benefit from their work together, regardless of where they fall on the spectrum. Nothing gives her greater joy than getting to know children and families, and ultimately watching their capacities grow through their work together.
